PE Roads of Serbia: 5th Serbian Congress on Roads

The 5th SERBIAN CONGRESS ON ROADS was held on May 30 and 31, 2024 at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Belgrade. The goal of this year's congress was to raise awareness of the need to respect the principles of sustainable development of road infrastructure and environmental protection.The topics of this year's congress were:
• Planning and designing - Examples and experiences
• Planning and designing - New technologies
• Management, construction and maintenance of roads
• ITS and new technologies in traffic
• Efficiency and safety of road traffic
• Sustainable development and environmental protectionIn the Republic of Serbia, 15 highway routes, or 642 km of highways, are currently under construction. The total investment value of the work currently being carried out is more than 10 billion euros. Systematic planning of traffic and traffic infrastructure continues. Projects are being developed for the sections Kraljevo - Novi Pazar, Požega - Kotroman, the extension of the Danube Corridor to Brza Palanka, and the design of Sector C of the Belgrade Bypass is being worked on. By the end of the year, the plan is to put 46 km of the Moravian Corridor into traffic in two sections, the completion of the high-speed road Šabac - Loznica, Sremska Rača - Kuzmin, then the section from Pakovraće to Požega, it was stated at the Congress.Most of the participants were from Serbia, but also from the entire region: Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and North Macedonia, as well as from Italy, Austria, France, Poland and Germany.
